"Turkish and Arabs still in possession of village and hill. Two Regiments completely surrounded and all our Posts captured by the enemy. Our aircraft have been up all day scouting around the enemy lines getting their positions. It is reported that the Dorset Yoemanary have got completely wiped out. Heard very heavy firing from the sea all day. The R.S. 7 did very good work, they routed the enemy with a bayonet charge."
I'm afraid I cannot identify the "village and hill" Peter refers to, or indeed which Regiment "R.S. 7 may apply to. Please feel free to leave a comment.
