These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

18th November 1915
"Then on the 18th November the Turks made another counter attack, but we drove them back and they had a very heavy casualty list. We had five killed and 12 wounded."
