These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

4th December 1916
"We had all to parade at half past six in the morning on the beach and we were taken from there on cutters belonging to H.M.S. Edgar. Then embarked onto the boat Kingstonian. A hospital boat came into the Bay during the night."
