25th April 1916

"Turkish still hold the position which the yeomanry lost. But the Warwickshire (yeomanry) broke their line at night and one squadron can't be found. Their was an air raid on Port Said by the enemie's aeroplanes which threw bombs, but there was no damage done. Our own aircraft made a raid on the Turks and it carried through all right. Casualties for the 24th & 25th April 50 in all, and some horses and camels killed.

Between the hours of 12 and 1 o'clock in the day a hostile aeroplane and one of our own had a fight in the air and the enemie's plane turned tail and went off making for his own lines.

We have taken between 50 and 60 prisoners and sent them to Cairo."
