These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"23rd; Still flooded out."
"24th; Got word to pack kit and catch train for Alex."
"25th; Arrived at Cairo at half past 7 in the morning. Left Cairo at half past 9, arrived at Yeomanry base at 1 in the afternoon."
