These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Our aeroplanes went out into the Desert and brought back information that the Turks were massing for another attack on Kantara and try and get to the Suiz Canal."
