These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Usual parade, and the aeroplanes up in the morning. In the afternoon they tried a new aeroplane. Canal very busy all throughout the night."
