These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Fatigue in the morning. Still more troops coming into Kantara. An Indian Camel Corp. came down from the trenches about six 0'clock in the evening."
