The Cape. 11th October 1915

"The Lanarkshire and Ayrshire left Lemnos Island on the boat Patridge for Cape Helles, arriving at the Cape on the 11th at 11 o'clock at night."

"We left the boat Patridge and planted ourselves on Turkish soil. When we got up the hill we were dead beat with the weight that we were carrying; we just threw ourself down in our beds which was in a trench, it was three foot wide"
