These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

20th November 1916
"Miss Lena Ashwell's Company gave an entertainment to the soldiers on the 20th and 21st. The Company consisted of four ladies and two gentlemen. They entertained the sick in hospital on the 20th."
