These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

11th September 1916
"Removed from No. 1 Redoubt to Hill 70 about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Between 9 and 10 o'clock in the morning our artillery had some firing practice at the back of our Redoubt line. Arrived at Hill 70 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon."
