These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Fatigue all day. In the afternoon 3 cargo boats past our post. Early in the morning one of our aeroplanes had been out practising bomb dropping, it dropped one very close on our camp."
