These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"17th June. Air raid on Kantara, two Turkish planes came over and dropped bombs. No damage done."
"18th June. Still with the Transport. At 2pm, church parade."
