These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Fatigue at redoubts and rifle inspection. Troop ship went down the Canal about 7 o'clock in the evening, it was full of troops, they were going to the Mesopotamian front."
