These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Fatigue all forenoon. Between 9 and 10 o'clock in the morning a troop ship full of Australians went up the Canal. More wounded troops come into Kantara."
