These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

"Rifle inspection and fatigue in the morning. Our artillery had more practice with our aeroplanes giving them the range.
The Australian and New Zealand forces are expecting to attack the Turkish position with camels."
