These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

2nd Febuary 1916
"Breakfast at 7am, started to take down tents after breakfast. Moved to beach at 12 o'clock, boarded a small paddle steamer which takes us out to troop ship, the SS Limla. We got tea aboard the Limla at 5pm."
