These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

14th December 1915
"On the 14th of December things got a bit livelier with the Turks. They seemed to me to have got a good supply of shells and they did not half throw them over at us"
