These are the diary entries of Private Peter Jack (1044) of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry, B Squadron. A native of Blackridge. It follows his experiences during the First World War campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula and later in Egypt, as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

15th and 16th November 1915
"We blew up two mines and captured three saps from the Turks. We held them for two days before the Turks made a counter attack on us and captured one of the saps back again. But we made a charge on the sap and the Turks hooked it again."
